A little about the MMdna
The MMDNA was formed in June 2008 as a Neighborhood Association. Meetings are open to everyone who lives and work in the neighborhood. There are no membership fees. Our aims are to:
- Help neighbors get to know each other at social events.
- Gather the history of the Midtown area.
- Form Block Watch groups to reduce crime and vandalism.
- Organize to share opinion with representatives of government.
- Support the businesses and cultural venues in our area.
Since his formation, the association has:
- Held monthly meetings.
- Established a mailing list of local businesses and residents and regularly send emails to over 500 people.
- Participated in the opening of M Light Rail, preparing and distributing 10,000 bags of information about
Midtown and local businesses.
- Successfully applied for Block Watch grants to support community crime prevention activities.
- Successfully applied for a grant to the Arizona Humanities Council for a community history project.
