A little about the MMdna

The MMDNA was formed in June 2008 as a Neighborhood Association. Meetings are open to everyone who lives and work in the neighborhood. There are no membership fees. Our aims are to:

  • Help neighbors get to know each other at social events.
  • Gather the history of the Midtown area.
  • Form Block Watch groups to reduce crime and vandalism.
  • Organize to share opinion with representatives of government.
  • Support the businesses and cultural venues in our area.

Since his formation, the association has:

  • Held monthly meetings.
  • Established a mailing list of local businesses and residents and regularly send emails to over 500 people.
  • Participated in the opening of M Light Rail, preparing and distributing 10,000 bags of information about

Midtown and local businesses.

  • Successfully applied for Block Watch grants to support community crime prevention activities.
  • Successfully applied for a grant to the Arizona Humanities Council for a community history project.
